Dear SeqAfrica Bioinformatics Community,
Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2025 Member Survey. We appreciate everyone's continued presence in the community and your contributions throughout the year. The survey aimed to assess member satisfaction and gather input for sustaining the network beyond March 2026, when the current project concludes.
We're happy to share that members reported a high level of satisfaction with the CoP's functioning and communication! Monthly meetings, speaker presentations, and networking opportunities were especially appreciated for supporting professional development and bioinformatics work.
You also shared thoughtful suggestions for sustaining the network, including: * 🏛️ Hosting the CoP within an institution or under rotating leadership * 💡 Seeking grant funding and institutional support * 🤝 Strengthening volunteer coordination and mentoring
In addition, we'd like to highlight the newly established ABI Community of Practice for Pathogen Surveillance & Antimicrobial Resistancehttps://redcap.h3abionet.org/redcap/surveys/?s=7KEJWYCJPJYEME8F. This initiative may be a great opportunity to stay connected and engaged in regional bioinformatics efforts, regardless of the future of the SeqAfrica CoP post-March 2026.
We truly appreciate your continued engagement and commitment to strengthening bioinformatics capacity across Africa.
Warm regards, Pernille
